-I found a reference at http://fam.eastmill.com/f724.htm#f28260 which lists John A. Williams as born in New York City in 1775.  This would cut the age gap between him and his wife Mercy Farrington to 5 years instead of 20 years, which seems reasonable enough, and would make him about age 24 rather than 40 at the time of his marriage.  This too seems reasonable, but is far different than the birth in Germany in 1760 that I've found elsewhere.  This definitely deserves to be investigated further.
