Albina Engine & Machine Works was founded  in 1904 as a repair yard, by William Cornfoot, a Scotsman.  It survived the lean inter-war years and flourished in WWII but closed in the 1980s.  It was located on N. River Street, in the Albina section of Portland, upstream of the Fremont Bridge.
